What is CE certification?
CE certification is limited to the basic safety requirements of products that do not endanger the safety of human beings, animals and goods, rather than general quality requirements. Coordination directives only specify major requirements, and general directive requirements are standard tasks. Therefore, the exact meaning is: CE mark is a safety qualification mark rather than a quality qualification mark. It is the "main requirement" that forms the core of the European Directive.
The "CE" logo is a safety certification logo and is regarded as a passport for manufacturers to open and enter the European market. CE stands for European Unity (CONFORMITE EUROPEENNE).
The "CE" sign in the European market is a compulsory certification mark. In order to circulate freely in the European market, whether products produced by enterprises within the European Union or products produced by other countries, the "CE" sign must be affixed to prove that the product meets the basic requirements of the EU Directive "New Method of Technical Coordination and Standardization". This is a mandatory requirement of EU law for products.
Use of CE Certification
CE certification may be required if enterprise products are to be exported to any of the 30 member countries of EEA, including EU EU and EFTA.
What is the CE label?
The CE label is the manufacturer's compliance label, indicating compliance with all existing instructions. For most products sold to the EU, the use of CE labels and the declaration of conformity of products are mandatory statutory provisions. With this mark, products can be freely circulated in Member States. The CE label must be on the product device or on the package. However, this CE labeling does not exempt national law enforcement agencies from taking action on products that do not conform to the labeling.
Advantages of CE Certification
CE certification provides a unified technical specification for the trade of products in European markets and simplifies the trade procedures. In order to enter the European Union and the European Free Trade Area (EFTA), products of any country must be certified by CE and labeled with CE. Therefore, CE certification is the passport for products to enter the European Union and European Free Trade Area countries. CE Certification indicates that the product has met the safety requirements stipulated in the EU Directive; it is a commitment of enterprises to consumers, which increases consumers'trust in the product; and products with CE logo will reduce the risk of sales in the European market.
